How do I dispose of an used laser toner cartridge? Is there a place I can send it to for remanufacturing?

My first laser toner cartridge ran out. Can I desert it in the trash?
I would prefer to recycle it or send it to a company that refills and resells them (remanufacturing). Does anyone have any info on those programs?
You can take it to OfficeMax. We recycle them and give you a $3 accept towards your purchase for each cartridge you return. We take both inkjet and laser cartridges. We will remanufacture the second-hand cartridge and resell it. Staples also has a program

Consistent and dependable-Canon CLI-8 3 Pack C/M/Y Value Pack ...

I bought this ink for my Canon Pixma MP600 printer / scanner / copier, which is a remarkable work. The ink is unwavering in the distinction and has never caused any incorrigible within two or three years I was there to buy from various suppliers. My only complaint is that the payment of the ink is too euphoric state of mind boggler with all inks for inkjet printers. And I'm dead as this product is manufactured in Japan. The advantage of the 3-quit during the 4-cram is that I use ink shameful much slower than the other three colors, so that 3-rid saves me money loan.
