can I keep track of my business mileage on a excel spread sheet and not a log book?

would it be accepted by the IRS?
i don't have a formal log book. i neutral enter the beginning and ending mileage on a piece of paper and at the end of the day i pierce it in excel. i don't really keep these papers.
You unwavering can and your accountant would love you for it. I work in an accounting office and one of my jobs is charming those little log books and entering the info into excel!

If I were to keep my work mileage log in something other than one of those little books you buy each year, like a software effort, exactly what information do I need to keep for each trip. Correct me if I'm unethical:
